It was months ago during my public crit with Stuart Horodner, that “product design” was mentioned in reference to my work. Since beginning graduate school, I’ve been interested in these attributes, unable to find a word to articulate my artistic desires.

I can understand now. I think this object is so beautiful and flirts with what art can be. It holds allure in form, one can imagine touching the material, the documentation encompasses marketing… all of this effortless all the while holding my attention in awe.

Now, how do I accomplish it in my own work? 🙂

Large industrial farms are cutting corners. Because of weakened immune systems, the chickens are supplemented, in this case, with arsenic. Although chicken waste is being used as a ‘fertilizer’ there are no regulations on waste scattering… its nearly impossible to tell how much has accumulated in the soil and affecting the U.S.’s rice industry… It saddens me–there shouldn’t need to be health risk before people implement or “volunteer” reform.
